I have decided to share a conglomeration of photos from the past week, instead of breaking it up into a bunch of mini posts. We have gotten snow twice in the last week, and like Chris said, that’s basically more snow than we got all last winter! 😉
It snowed on Wednesday, and it looked so beautiful. Chris and I got up early that morning, and it hadn’t snowed yet so he went to work. About half an hour after he left, I looked out the window and saw a few flakes falling from the dark sky! I started editing, but I kept seeing the snow outside and I knew that I had to stop and go outside before it quit. And I’m so glad I took a break, because shortly after taking these, the sun came out and all the snow melted!
That evening, Chris and I had a fun double date with our friends at the ice skating rink! The day before, I had taken Olivia, Joelle, and Joelle’s friend to the rink, and that was the first time I had skated since April! I miss it so much, but between my busy work schedule, planning a wedding, and now being a wife, I felt too packed to add skating back into that. It’s also definitely not a cheap hobby, and the closest rink is and hour and a half away! That’s why I’m always so happy when the rink 15 minutes from my house opens up in the winter 🙂 That’s a whole lot closer, haha!
Sunday morning we got a lot of snow. Nearly six inches! We were driving home from Richmond that morning, and it was definitely a little stressful. We hadn’t taken the 4WD truck to Richmond, and Chris’s Charger doesn’t do very well in the snow. We were slipping around quite a bit, and it took a looooong time to get home! I was so thankful to finally be safe in our driveway!! I went out to take more pictures in the snow, and it was just so beautiful!
The next morning, Chris didn’t have to work, which is always a good thing in my book! 🙂 I looked out the window and saw the snow against the pretty blue sky, and told Chris “I know I have work to do, but I just have to go take more pictures!” haha! He worked in the shop most of the day while I edited, but around noon I looked outside and saw the most amazing glowy light coming through the trees! And Chris, being the wonderful husband that he is, humored me and helped me get the tripod all set up for some photos! He’s the best!
This truly does feel like the most magical time of the year, and I am loving all this snow! Especially now that we have a truck that can plow right through it 😉 We went to the grocery store this morning (first ones in the door at Aldi! I love an empty grocery store!!) and I stocked up on a bunch of food, so if it snows again we are good to go! And if it doesn’t, I don’t have to go to the store and that’s perfectly fine with me 😉
I love my live wreath from Costco!!
