I love homemade bread. It’s so ridiculously easy to make, and a hundred times better than store bought! My mom used to make this recipe all the time when we were growing up, and I have lots of memories of eating a very warm fresh-from-the-oven slice of bread with melted butter on top.
I used my trusty bread machine, and it came out perfectly! Using the bread machine, it only takes 10 minutes of my time, if even that much. I have to put the ingredients in the machine, plop it into a pan when it’s done, and then pop it into the oven! It couldn’t be much easier than that!
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup water
2 1/4 Tbsp honey
1 3/4 Tbsp melted butter
1/2 cup quick oats
1 1/3 tsp salt
2 3/4 cups flour
1 3/4 Tbsp oat bran or wheat bran
1 3/4 tsp yeast
Put 1/4 cup of milk into measuring cup and full up to (a little less than) 1 cup with water. Add the rest of the ingredients to the bread machine and set to Dough.
Once the dough cycle is complete, grease 1 loaf pan and put the dough in the pan and let rise for 20 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
