I feel like, by definition, gingerbread houses are pretty DIY in nature anyway 😂 But I feel like I went the extra mile by actually making the gingerbread and cutting out all the pieces for the houses! I didn’t want to spend all the money on a kit, and I figured it couldn’t be that hard.
That’s usually where I go wrong and end up with something that was REALLY SUPER HARD. But shockingly, these houses actually turned out decent! I used hot glue to piece them together, because why on earth would I waste royal icing on a doesn’t-need-to-be-edible gingerbread house. Not to mention, I have a hard time believing that royal icing ever actually does any kind of glueing.
First, before the gingerbread house photos, I’m going to bless you with these photos of Lincoln in front of our tree ❤️
I have never been particularly good at decorating gingerbread houses, so I was happy with the end result 😄 I just wanted to have a few houses that I was able to use as decoration on our dining room table, and they’re perfect for that!
