While I love hiking, I am not always the most adventurous about choosing my trail. I like going on the trails that I know and love, and I’m not as excited about trying new trails. Which is ridiculous, I know, because all of the trails I love used to be unknown to me, and now I love them! And on top of that, I’ve never really been on a hike that I didn’t really enjoy, so by that logic I should know that any trail I choose will be great 😄
But my go-to hike is Bearfence Mountain in Shenandoah National Park. Now that we’ve moved further south, it’s nearly an hour drive to get there, but it’s SO worth it. It’s my favorite because it only takes about 15-20 minutes to reach the top, and half of that is climbing rocks! No matter the time of year, the views are absolutely gorgeous. And the biggest reason of all, Bearfence is where Chris asked me to be his girlfriend on that bright spring day in May ❤️
On October 9th, Chris got off work early and we decided to go hiking with Joelle. It couldn’t have been a better day for a hike! The leaves were already changing colors, and it looked magnificent. Just a perfect fall day.
We also took apple cider donuts in my camera bag and ate them at the top, which was the best decision ever. We either worked out enough to eat the donuts, or eating the donuts canceled out the workout 😂 Who knows, but it was worth it!
